The stock surged 11.09% to end at ₹990.70, as one of the day’s most striking price developments. This marks a move in the midst of increased investor interest in the diagnostic space, prompted by enhanced profitability and rising healthcare access in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Other Stocks with High Volume Action

Five-Star Business Finance Ltd also witnessed increased activity, with 52.64 lakh shares changing hands, almost 8.7 times its average daily volume. The stock rose 6.42% to ₹711.50, as investor appetite increased in NBFCs that are gaining from rural and small business credit demand.

Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Ltd listed 12.13 lakh shares, 5.83 times up, as the stock price jumped 8.52% to ₹1,691.65. The finance firm has experienced sustained buying interest on anticipation of robust quarterly results.

On the other hand, Delhivery Ltd registered a whopping 196.49 lakh shares in terms of volume, roughly 3.4 times its average, though the stock fell 6.58% to ₹250.70. The correction comes on the back of recent updates in its acquisition plan and wider market sentiment for logistics stocks.

LIC Housing Finance Ltd also featured at 35.74 lakh shares, a 2.69x increase in turnover. The stock increased by 5.45% to ₹573.40 on back of increased investor confidence in the housing finance space following stable interest rate expectations.

Market Sentiment and Sector Rotation

The overall market direction on April 8 indicates a definite trend of investors turning their attention towards healthcare, financial services, and NBFCs, and most companies in these industries have seen robust institutional and retail buying.

The spike in volumes on these counters reflects growing speculative interest, potentially in anticipation of future earnings releases and macroeconomic reports. Sectoral rotation and portfolio re-allocation are cited by market analysts as prime movers behind the volume breakout observed in some mid-cap and small-cap names.

Conclusion

At the forefront is Vijaya Diagnostic Centre, with today’s market activity indicating a firm revival in investor sentiment in a few select sectors. Volume spikes like these as earnings season gets underway are often early pointers to larger investment themes and may well offer good insight into shifting market sentiment.
