Tipsy Elves Checking Out Golf’s New, Loudest Style

There is a new, even louder fashion taking over golf courses everywhere. When we spotted the Tipsy Elves booth for the first time at the 2023 PGA Show, we couldn’t avoid stopping. The hot dog tee got us at hello.

Although these duds may not be for everyone, golfers who prefer the loud and garish—some would call it obnoxious—have more choices than ever. Loudmouth has dominated the scene for years thanks to the added momentum gained from its sponsorship deal with John Daly, golf’s baddest bad boy, but Tipsy Elves is ready to poach some market share and create a following of its own.

How Tipsy Elves Clothing Moved Into the Golf Space

The history of Tipsy Elves is really rather cool. It started in 2011 as an ugly Christmas sweater brand. But the desire for some individuals to peacock year-round is too great. So the brand branched out to create clothing for all major holidays, as well as swimwear and snow/ski gear. Their first golf line dropped in April 2022.

It was so popular that new designs have been made each year. Tipsy Elves’ success can likely be attributed to the arrival of new, younger golfers who are easily looking to dress and think differently than golf’s establishment. They want the game to be fun and welcoming, not their old man’s country club. Music and beverages fit right in with this new image.

I’m sure there’s also a market for spouses, parents, and girlfriends who want to buy something from Tipsy Elves as a gag gift for their favorite golfer. That’s fine, too. That’s how the ugly Christmas sweater market exploded.

A Look at Tipsy Elves’ Wildest Golf Attire

Tipsy Elves golfers will be proud to sport Bigfoot, gophers, and fish on their shirts. All of it is really special and guaranteed to raise an eyebrow the first time your friends lay eyes on it. The cost is fairly reasonable at $44.95 shorts, $49.95 polo, and $69.95 pants and wild-looking knickers, which come in solid-color, knee-high socks.

If you’re not bold enough to wear the most outrageous patterns such as the Tacosaurus and Rubber Ducky shirts and shorts, you can go shopping for a little less dramatic patterns.

Everyone adores the Bloody Mary polo whenever I wear it. It’s soft, breathable, and playful. Seeing the Grand Finale polo and button-down shirt filled with bomb pops just makes me smile every time. Bomb pops literally represent my youth of running wild in the streets, playing hoops, and sliding through open fire hydrants. It will be my favorite Fourth of July party top, on and off the golf course, as long as it holds up.

Women’s Golf Wear Enters the Party

In 2024, the company introduced its entry into women’s golf wear. Their designs are equally playful and flashy. The girls can ride along with the gator in a golf cart polo or go for his-and-hers coordinating squirrel polos. You’ll be a hit wherever you golf together.

While traditionalists might scoff, one thing is certain: Tipsy Elves is making golf fashion more fun. Whether you’re in it for a laugh, a statement, or just a comfortable and breathable polo, this brand is shaking up the golf world in the loudest way possible.
