A Foundation Laid in 1956

JP Minda Group started its journey in 1956 under the guidance of Late Shri Jaideo Prasad Minda. As the family patriarch, he set up the Group’s first ventures in automotive manufacturing at a time when India’s industrial base was still taking shape.

He built the business on discipline, honesty, and faith in India’s manufacturing future. He also set clear standards for quality and technical work. These principles became part of the Group’s daily operations and helped guide later expansion. His focus on long-term planning and strong engineering practices gave the next generations a stable base to grow the business without losing sight of core values.

The Architect of Growth: Mr. Ashwani Minda

Continuing this legacy, Mr. Ashwani Minda, Chairman and Managing Director of JP Minda Group, has guided the Group toward stronger technology use and wider global cooperation.

An alumnus of IIT Delhi, Mr. Minda brings over 45 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, industrial management, and international joint ventures. He currently leads several operating companies within the Group and has worked to improve coordination and scale across different business units.

During his leadership phase, JP Minda Group entered the electric public transport space, marking a clear step toward clean mobility and new-age engineering. The Group increased its focus on EV-related products, including electrical systems, lightweight parts, and safety and signalling equipment.

One of the key developments in this period has been the Group’s role in electric bus manufacturing and public transport electrification. This work supports India’s changing urban transport needs. At the same time, the Group has expanded its work in battery systems and power electronics to stay aligned with the shift toward electric mobility.

The Future Torchbearer: Mr. Anirudh Minda

The third generation of leadership is represented by Mr. Anirudh Minda, who brings global exposure and an engineering background to the Group’s operations.

He holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Spain and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan in the United States. His work experience includes roles at Mercedes-Benz USA and Maruti Suzuki. He has also taken part in engineering and mobility-related projects during his studies and early professional years.

Within the Group, Mr. Anirudh Minda has focused on the use of technology, better manufacturing systems, and long-term global readiness. His approach aims to improve efficiency while keeping the organisation aligned with its long-standing values and business direction.
